1. Firing Services Overview

Jade Iguana Co. provides kiln firing services for pottery and ceramics, which includes bisque firing and glaze firing. We use an electric doll kiln to achieve the desired results for your ceramic pieces. Our services involve the handling and firing of ceramic items provided by the customer.

2. Firing Process & Risks

We take every precaution to ensure a high-quality firing process, but the nature of kiln firing involves certain inherent risks that are outside of our control. By submitting your ceramics for firing, you acknowledge and agree to the following risks:

• Cracking or Breaking: The firing process can sometimes cause ceramics to crack, warp, or break, even with proper preparation. This may occur due to factors such as clay composition, thickness, firing temperature, or design flaws.

• Glaze Issues: Glazes may not behave as expected during the firing process, potentially leading to undesirable finishes, colors, or surface defects. The Studio is not responsible for glaze outcomes, including but not limited to color changes, pinholing, or crawling.

• Unexpected Firing Issues: Mechanical failure, kiln malfunctions, or human error can occasionally affect the outcome of the firing. While we aim to prevent such occurrences, these situations may result in loss or damage to your work.

• Material Compatibility: The Studio is not responsible for damage to ceramics resulting from the incompatibility of materials, including but not limited to clay, glaze, or any other materials you use in your pieces.

3. Customer Responsibilities

To minimize the risk of issues, Customers are required to:

• Proper Preparation: Ensure that all pottery is well-prepared, dry, and free of defects before submitting it for firing. We do not accept responsibility for pre-existing defects in the ceramics.

• Clay and Glaze Information: Provide accurate information regarding the materials used in your pottery, including type of clay, glazes, and any special firing instructions. Incompatibility of materials is the customer's responsibility.

• Labeling: Label all items clearly with your name and contact information. The Studio is not responsible for lost items that are improperly labeled or left unclaimed.

4. Limitation of Liability

While we make every effort to ensure the safety and quality of your ceramics, you acknowledge that the firing process carries inherent risks. To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• Jade Iguana Co. is not liable for any direct or indirect damages arising from the firing of ceramics, including but not limited to breakage, cracking, warping, glaze defects, or any other result of the firing process.

• The Studio’s liability is limited to the cost of the firing service paid by the customer. We are not responsible for the value of the ceramic items themselves, whether or not they are damaged during firing.

5. Claims and Disputes

• Any concerns regarding the condition of your pottery after firing must be raised within [7–14] days of collection. After this time, Jade Iguana Co. is not responsible for any damage or defects.

• Disputes regarding the outcome of the firing process will be handled on a case-by-case basis. By submitting your pottery for firing, you agree to allow the Studio a reasonable opportunity to inspect the work and assess the situation.

6. Firing Fees & Payment

• Pricing: The firing fee is based on the size, type, and number of pieces being fired. A price estimate will be provided before service begins.

• Payment: Payment for firing services is due before the firing begins. Failure to pay in full will result in the retention of your pottery until payment is made.

7. Pickup & Unclaimed Items

• Items must be picked up within 3 days after the firing is complete. Jade Iguana Co. is not responsible for unclaimed ceramics.

• If you fail to pick up your pottery within 3 days, you may incur additional storage fees or your items may be discarded at the discretion of the Studio.

8. Confidentiality

Jade Iguana Co. will treat all customer information as confidential and will not disclose personal or product details to third parties without your consent, except as required by law.

9. Changes to Terms

The Studio reserves the right to amend or update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will be posted on our website or communicated directly to customers. Continued use of our firing services constitutes acceptance of any revised terms.
